Earthquake (Practice drop, cover, hold in classroom 4 times per year.)
- Drop, cover, and hold on.
- If indoors, we will stay there. Take cover under a sturdy piece of furniture or brace ourselves against an inside wall. We will instruct the children to protect their head and neck and stay away from windows.
- If outdoors, we will move into the open, away from buildings, street lights and utility wires (open grass fire drill area if utility wire is down).
- Classroom listings of students with emergency contact information will be copied and placed in each classroom’s earthquake box – all earthquake boxes are placed in lunch bunch barn.
- Other emergency supplies are located in the office – flashlight, battery operated radio with extra batteries, first aid kit, trash bags, and tools.
- Emergency Disaster Plan is posted in office and all classrooms.
- Staff will follow training procedures for turning off utilities and gas.
